Some love stories are planned. Others just ask you to say yes.
Kal and Hannah were visiting friends in Washington when they decided, on a whim, to get married that very day. A call from my tattoo artist changed my afternoon plans—"Hey, my friends are eloping in the woods. Want to photograph it?"
Of course, I said yes.
By the time I arrived at their family friend’s farm, everything was already in motion. My tattoo artist had become their officiant (thank you, online ordination). His parents were prepping a home-cooked feast. And in the middle of the forest, with sunlight flickering through the trees, Kal and Hannah were ready to commit their lives to each other with laughter in their throats and dirt on their boots.
No florals. No formalities. Just love and moss and a sense that this moment was exactly right.
I documented their vows beneath the pines, barefoot and beaming. We wandered the woods afterward, taking portraits in quiet clearings and leaning into the magic of the day. There were no timelines, no expectations—just joy, friends, food, and a celebration rooted in freedom.
It was one of the best days of my life.
If your love story breaks the rules, I’d love to help you honor it. Let’s make art.
